Functionality

System Requirements
- Microsoft Windows 2000 and above.
- Only executable files are protected.
- Original disc must be in user’s drive at launch of application.
- Apple Macintosh and Unix/Linux are NOT supported.
Mastering Requirements
- Standard CD or DVD master.
- Disc must contain an executable (.exe).
- Add three (3) days to turn-time for preparation and testing.
FAQs
- Is the system Vista compatible? Yes. The system has been fully tested for compatibility with the Microsoft Vista operation system.
- Will the system protect Red Book audio CDs? No. The system only protects ROM (data) discs at this time.
- Can I protect Word documents, PDFs, or other types of files? No. Only the disc and executable are protected.
- Can the system be used on Hybrid (Mac/PC) discs? Yes. Discs that contain separate partitions for Macintosh and Windows can be used as masters, however the application on the Macintosh partition will not be protected.
- What will the user see when they run the application? A simple dialog box will ask the user to install the driver the first time the application is run. After the initial launch, the user will see the message below while the disc is authenticating.
- How long does the authentication last? The process of assuring the original disc is in the drive depends upon the speed and drive performance of the user’s system. Authentication usually
takes ten to twenty seconds.

For superior DVD protection, Evatone is
a Macrovision authorized authoring and replication facility.
Evatone inserts Macrovision bits during the authoring process.
These activation bits remain a part of the program through
the mastering and replication stages. The activation bits
then instruct an integrated circuit within the playback
device to add Macrovision copy protection to the outgoing
analog video. The copy protection is transparent when content
is viewed, but prevents or substantially degrades copies
made on recording devices.
